For this piece of work we were asked to created an individual reflective digital portfolio, which contained a minimum of 6 features all of approximately 200 words each. The aim was to showcase my professional and employment actives through the 2011MAPA module. These features can be found all over this website, but I will added specific links to where to find the six below. For the reflections I have written up about: my CV, my short term placement, being on the Christian Union Marketing Team, attending the RTS TV Careers Fair, TV Studio Training at The Tank, and being a student ambassador for West Orchards.

Penelope Amatt is the Campaign Manager for MykindaFuture, a social enterprise helping students connect with recruiters. I had considered events management as a career, however, after work experience at Lloyds Bank in this role, I realised it was not for me. Nevertheless, I found Penelope’s experience and advice excellent.

Jen Marscheider has worked in Marketing for 10 years in numerous companies and is currently the Marketing Manager for City of Culture, which Coventry won for 2021.  While preparing for the City of Culture Bid, Jen was the only member of the marketing team, and created all the videos, posters, and social media.

Following on from the Planning For Professional Experience module where part of the task was to find guest speakers in different industries to come to the university to give lectures, for this module we now are writing reflections of these guest lectures and exploring how they link to our future career plans. Below you will find all the guest lectures that I attended, which will discuss the individual giving the lecture, the industry they work in, and the advice they gave to get into that industry and for the media industry more generally.
