Year Long Placement at UCB (United Christian Broadcasters)

Placement Information:

United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) is a Christian media charity with the aim to offer every person in every place at every moment of the day the opportunity to hear, watch or read the Word of God in a relevant and engaging way.

Full time work, flexibly across the week.

Job Role: Broadcast Assistant 

Job Role will Include:

 Prepare for daily live radio shows on UCB’s national stations. 

 Coordinate with presenter(s) content and timings of broadcasts. 

 Initiate, establish and maintain working relationships with organisations, ministries and denominations at all levels where necessary to acquire relevant content. 

 Basic presenting and communicating to a wide broadcast audience. 

 Understand target audiences, how they listen, how and when they respond to programming, what makes a good on air sound, what attracts and will keep listeners and ensure the programme is prepared accordingly. 

 Apply relevant OFCOM regulations. 

 Keep up to date with current affairs and relevant news. 

 Monitor the programme as it airs and to provide further input required as the programme develops, and any additional support, back up, etc. needed by the presenter, on the spot production assistance during transmission. 

 Work under pressure; the requirement to be flexible and reactive. 

 Have good administrative and organisational skills. Deal with mail, emails, and telephone calls, update website/social media information. 

 Digitally assemble a programme within the radio operating system (Zetta). 

 Attend regular ILM training and assignment sessions and complete the necessary assessments associated with this.

 Be an ambassador for Christ, UCB and its mission.
